HOW DO I CARE FOR MY INTIMATES?

A woman with dark skin and short hair stands against a neutral background, holding her hands behind her head, wearing white tank top and underwear, with laundry hanging on a clothesline in front of her.
A garden with white poppy flowers in the foreground, green foliage, and two trees in the background under an overcast sky.
A woman with dark skin and reddish-brown hair standing against a plain background, holding her hands on her head, wearing a white tank top and underwear, with laundry hanging on a line with clothespins in front of her.

What's good for the longevity of your intimates is also easy on the Earth - sense a pattern here? We suggest:

  • hand or machine washing (gentle cycle) in cold water

  • lay flat out of direct sunlight to dry. Easy peasy.

for pieces that are botanically dyed always wash cold to preserve your hues. Also wash w/ like colors the first few times, as brighter colors may run. Colors will naturally evolve or fade over time as they become uniquely yours.

WHAT MAKES OUR PIECES “SUSTAINABLE”?

We choose fabrics + materials that work with bodies + Mother Earth's natural cycles. Our Compassionate Silk + Eucalyptus Fiber are easily renewable and our bio-elastic is certified safely biodegradable, returning to the land as resources instead of waste.

LONG STORY SHORT: Our undies are made from materials found in nature (unlike other undies that contain plastics / synthetics that irritate skin and last years in landfill), they don’t use tons of water, land or chemicals to cultivate (like cotton or bamboo material does), we create locally with intention + care (partnering with family operated factories + eco dye houses in Los Angeles), and each piece returns to the earth (YES, they’re safely biodegradable) at the end of life.

Every step of the way, we seek to fairly pay our creative partners - from material makers / cutters/ sewers and dyers. Supporting living wages is an important foundation for creating the sustainably livable, just world we want to be a part of.

IF THEY’RE BIODEGRADABLE, DO YOUR PIECES LAST AS LONG AS OTHER BRANDS?

This is a funny question we get asked and the answer is absolutely. Silk is actually one of the most durable fibers out there - it used to be the chosen material for war parachutes because of its unmatched natural strength. Turns out it is also naturally breathable, doesn't require lots of processing and easily takes to plant dyes/ colors. Since it's a natural fiber, it happens breaks down in compost. What's not to love.

Our pieces + materials have gone through quality testing that, we'd like to think, exceeds other major brands in the market. They last just as long as the big names, they just happen to be good for you and the planet.
